Mobile Medical Diagnostics are the only fully licensed mobile x-ray service in Ireland. Our mantra is moving equipment not patients and our mission is to bring quality care and diagnostics to communities in a clinically compliant manner. We provide a community-based radiology services solution, resulting in improved access to x-ray for our clients. Our clients include Nursing Homes, Transitional Care Units, Hospices, Intellectual Disability Centres and Private dwellings where most patients have physical and or cognitive impairments and a transfer to hospital is challenging.

The opportunity:

Mobile Medical Diagnostics is at an exciting juncture in its development and have ambitious growth plans for 2023 and beyond. This role will be integral to that growth and the incumbent will be an important member of the operations team.

Reporting to the Director of Radiology Services, the role will entail a range of operational tasks, including:

The role

  • Provide a quality service by ensuring that every patient is treated as an individual in terms of courtesy, kindness, efficiency, efficacy and confidentiality
  • Drive to each location to perform Mobile Imaging X-ray examinations in the community
  • Adhere to radiation principles for radiation protection, including justification, optimisation (ALARA) and dose constraints/limits
  • Understand S.I.30 and S.I.256, Council directive 96/29 Euratom Basic safety standards for the protection of health workers and the general public against the dangers arising from Ionising Radiation
  • To take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance
  • Follow radiography protocols and local rules and maintain a high standard of Radiography
  • Liaising with Consultant Radiologists and referring Physicians
  • Managing relationships with our clients
  • Participate in training and support training of locum and new staff
  • Participate in Continued Professional Development
  • To take responsibility for the general cleanliness, tidiness and safety of the equipment in line with current infection control procedures
  • To be familiar with, and abide by, all Health and Safety Rules and recommendations
  • To maintain good working relationships with colleagues and with non-radiographic staff
  • Assist with quality accreditation standards

Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a broad range of examinations
  • BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
  • Qualification must be recognised and validated by the Irish Institute of Radiography
  • CORU Registered
